Date :27-Oct-2023

Breast cancer is beyond a medical condition, it has become a topic that has been spreading awareness every day, a chapter that resonates well with individuals, families, and communities. This excruciating battle has touched hearts, spread awareness, and empowered people to take good control of their health. Through this blog, we shall delve into the intricate condition of breast cancer and how it impacts millions.

What is Breast Cancer?

Breast cancer is a disease that emerges in the breast with a malignant tumor. The tumor encompasses a mass of cells that grow uncontrollably. Cancerous cells can potentially spread to other tissues or parts of the body, once metastasized. The cancer originates in three types of breast tissues namely lobules, ducts, and connective tissue.

Cancer often starts in the milk-producing glands called the lobules or the milk ducts. Sometimes, tumors can also form in the fibrous and fatty connective tissue tissue around these glands and ducts.

There are various types of breast cancer, and the treatment depends on the type and how advanced the stage is. When breast cancer spreads into a healthy tissue, it is said to be invasive. If it stays within the breast's ducts or lobules, it's noninvasive.

The Causes of Breast Cancer
Health professionals state that the condition occurs when some breast cells tend to grow abnormally. These cells divide faster than healthy cells and continue to gather, creating a lump or mass. Although it’s still unknown what triggers this change.

Some of the factors that lead to breast cancer are

  • Age - 55 or older
  • Family history
  • Genetics
  • Consumption of alcohol
  • Lifestyle factors - Consumption of alcohol, overweight, smoking and lack of physical activity
  • Exposure to radiation

A Patient’s Journey of Hope and Healing

My name is Divya, and I had the most challenging phases of my life with Breast Cancer. When I was first diagnosed, I felt overwhelmed and lost. And all I wanted was the right medical care. That’s when I came across with Trust in Hospital in Bangalore. I found not only exceptional medical care but also a sense of hope and unwavering support.

Dr. Sivakumar guided me through the treatment plan and gave me confidence that I was in the right hands. He explained everything in a way that I could understand and always took the time to address my concerns.

The entire team at Trust in Hospital, from the nurses to the support staff, made me feel like more than just a patient. More than a hospital, I felt like home, I felt like part of a caring family. They provided emotional support and helped me navigate the challenging aspects of my breast cancer journey.

I can't emphasize enough how crucial it is to have a medical team you can trust during such a trying time. Thanks to their care, I've not only received the best treatment available but have also found strength and hope on this path to recovery.

Understanding breast cancer is not just about knowing about the disease itself but about understanding the importance of awareness, risk factors, and proactive measures. By becoming informed and taking charge of our health, we move closer to a future where breast cancer is less prevalent and less devastating.
